Total Beginner and I have no equipment?
Great we provide all the high quality equipment you will need for the lessons.
I have my own equipment can I use it on my lesson?
Yes if the instructor on the day signs it off after a safety check if not we will supply you with one of ours.
Is it suitable for Kids?
We recommend that any preteens are taught with an adult on a specific family lesson. As a rule of thumb children under 8 or 9 would struggle to be able to paddle safely for the time needed on a lesson. but check with us as we can always work out a private lesson.
I wear glasses can I still learn to SUP?
We realise some people wear glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids – that’s fine, yes you can still learn SUP, please inform us when you fill in the booking form you may want to use a glasses strap/float etc.
Courses/Packages/Certificates
We can teach a variety of great courses the main full programme is the ASI SUPwise course giving a full Level 1 world recognised paddleboarding certificate with log book
We also offer our introduction Everyday SUP Beginners certificate on our introduction courses
Our instructors have technical coach status so they can help you with a bespoke programme for paddle stroke improvement, fitness, distance and race preperations if required.
Everyday likes to be flexible and fit your needs so if that’s a corporate away day, a family birthday, paddleboard wedding all the way to scattering ashes or having a splashing good team building time we have got you covered – just ask!
ASI SUPwise lessons and bad weather
All SUP lessons are weather dependant, we do constantly monitor the weather as we near the SUP lesson dates. Rain doesn’t usually stop play but wind really can – we will be in touch if needed, but you’ll still have fun in the sun, rain, warmth or whatever UK weather arrives!
What do you need to bring to the on the day.
We ask that you come already in your swimming costume ready to put on the wetsuit provided or your own and your own either wet shoes, beach shoes or old trainers, once you are on the water you can remove your shoes and place them on your board if you would like to go barefoot.
You need a towel and dry warm clothes for afterwards as we will be asking you to dismount the board and climb back on to it near the end of the lesson.
A drink and some snacks if you want some after a couple of hours of enjoyable paddleboarding.
What will I learn on a SUP Lesson
The SUP Beginners lesson is 2hrs in total this includes filling in paperwork at the beginning, putting on and taking off wetsuits.
First part of the lesson is on land where we explain and demonstrate everything to you that you need to know before embarking onto the water.
The safety aspects of SUP how to carry the board, how to get on and off the water safely, positions on the board kneeling, standing, and lying (prone position) on the board, how to hold and use the paddle, self-rescue when falling off a sup board and how to get back on, how to use your quick release leash.
Second part of the lesson All students go out with our ASI Instructor on to the water.
The Instructor will explain everything, they have demonstrated to you on land, step by step so you can practice it on the water.
Third part of the lesson once everyone in the group has practiced the basics of SUP the Instructor will take you on a small tour where you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the lake and get to see the fabulous wildlife living near the water’s edge.
Finally, please remember to have your photo taken with you holding your Beginners SUP certificate before getting changed.

- If they can swim 50 metres (150 feet) if you are unable to swim this distance you can still access the SUP lesson we just need notifying prior to the lesson.
